I found my homestead in 1980 knowing little or nothing about what I was getting myself into. It has been an intensely long labor of love and I've learned a lot about what is important(and not)in life. My lists were burned long ago, as a person can only do so much in any given day. Shetland Sheep entered the picture in 1992 the year my daughter was born. Their beautiful, natural colored fine fiber became the impetus of my new business Winter Sky Wool Co. I handspin yarns and sell fiber, yarns and knitgoods at the local farmer's market. When my daughter was ten she decided to breed Nigerian Dwarf goats under the Dancing Angels herd name. She has been highly successful with this venture and has lovely kids available each spring. We also raise Australian Spotted Bantam ducks to keep us entertained on cold/wet days.
